What Works
What Makes A Good Cover-Up
Not every tattoo covers the same way — and that's exactly why it's worth a chat. Here's what gives a cover-up the best shot at disappearing for good.

Bigger Than The Original
A cover-up needs room — usually two to three times the size of the old tattoo — so the new design has space to work around and over the old ink.

Dark & Bold Wins
Rich blacks, deep browns and heavy shadow are what truly hide old ink. Light or delicate work can look great fresh, then the old tattoo creeps back as it heals.

Flowing, Natural Shapes
Flowers, feathers, foliage and wildlife disguise old lines far better than straight edges or lettering. My black cockatoos and native botanicals are perfect for it.

Some Need A Little Prep
Old, faded tattoos are the easiest to cover. A solid-black or brand-new piece is the toughest — it may need a session of laser fading first, or layering over a couple of sittings.
